What we collect, and what we do with it.

We are a two-person review site, not an ad network. This page says exactly what happens to your data — including the parts most policies write in a way you cannot follow.

Who is responsible for your data

TrustedMens is operated by Marc Halden and David Ellison. For anything on this page — access, deletion, a complaint, or just a question — write toprivacy@trustedmens.com and one of us answers it personally.

What you give us on purpose

The only personal information we hold is what you choose to send us:

  • Email. If you write to us, we keep the message and your address so we can reply and so we have a record if the conversation continues later.
  • Newsletter signups. The newsletter is not running yet. When it launches we will hold an email address and a subscription date, nothing more, and this page will be updated before the first email goes out.
  • Corrections and tips. If you send us your own experience with a product, we treat it as private. We never publish a reader's words, screenshots, or results without asking you first and getting a yes.

We do not buy email lists, and we do not add you to anything because you emailed us about something else.

What gets collected automatically

This site is static HTML served by our hosting provider. Like every web server on the internet, theirs writes a log line for each request: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, your browser's user-agent string, and the page you came from. Those logs exist for security and troubleshooting, they are held for a short period by the host, and we do not use them to build any profile of you.

Cookies and tracking

TrustedMens sets no cookies of its own. There is no login, no cart, and no session to remember.

Affiliate links. When you click a link to a shop, the merchant or its affiliate network usually sets a cookie so it knows the visit came from us, which is how we get paid. That cookie belongs to them, not to us. We never see your name, your card, your address, or what you bought — the reporting we get back is a count of clicks and a commission total.How that arrangement works is spelled out here.

Who else sees your data

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. A small number of service providers process data on our behalf because they run the plumbing:

  • our hosting and content delivery provider, which serves the pages and keeps the logs;
  • our email provider, which delivers and stores the messages you send us;
  • affiliate networks, which record that a click came from us — that record is theirs, made under their own policy.

We would also hand over data if a law or a valid legal order required it, which has not happened.

Why we are allowed to hold it

If you are in the UK or the EEA: we process your email on the basis of your consent when you subscribe to something, and on the basis of legitimate interest when you write to us and we reply, or when our host keeps server logs to stop abuse. You can withdraw consent at any time, and that does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Emailprivacy@trustedmens.com and we will act within 30 days. We will not make you jump through a verification hoop beyond confirming you control the email address in question.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, to receive your data in a portable format, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

If you are in California, you have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising either, and we honour Global Privacy Control if your browser sends it.We will never charge you a different price or give you a worse experience for exercising any of this.

How long we keep things

Emails stay in our inbox until they are no longer useful, and we clear out old threads periodically. Server logs are held for a short retention window by our host and then rotated out. If you ask us to delete something sooner, we do.

Where your data goes

We are based in the United States and our providers are too, so if you write to us from outside the US your email is stored in the US. We rely on standard contractual clauses where they apply.

This site is for adults

TrustedMens covers men's health products, including prescription treatments, and is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect anything from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is static and served over HTTPS, so there is no database of yours for anyone to breach here. The accounts that hold what we do have — email, and the newsletter list if it exists — are protected with strong unique passwords and two-factor authentication. No system is perfect, and we will tell affected people directly if that ever stops being true.

Changes to this policy

When we add a tool that collects something new, we update this page before it goes live, not after, and we change the date at the top. There is no "we may change this at any time without notice" clause, because that is not a policy, it is a shrug.
