How we make money, in plain English.
Every review site should have a page like this and most of them bury it. Ours is short because the arrangement is simple.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the company pays us a percentage. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid anyway — the commission comes out of the seller’s margin, not your wallet.
Affiliate links are marked wherever we use them, and every product box on a review page says so underneath the button.
What that money does not buy
It does not buy a score, a ranking, a recommendation, or a soft paragraph. We decide what to review before we know whether an affiliate programme even exists, and several of the products we have bought do not have one at all.
When we recommend the cheaper option, or tell you to skip the subscription and buy the generic, we usually earn less. That is the correct outcome and we would rather keep the site than optimise a single page.
Things we will not do
- Accept payment in exchange for a review, a score, a ranking, or a place on a list.
- Let a brand read, approve, or fact-check a review before it is published.
- Publish a review of something we did not buy and use ourselves.
- Remove a negative review because a brand asked, complained, or threatened.
- Use a real customer’s words, photos, or results without their permission.
- Present ourselves as medical professionals, because we are not.
Advertising
We sometimes pay to promote our own articles on social platforms and search engines. Those are our own pages, promoting our own writing — we do not run other companies’ ads on this site, and nobody pays us for placement here.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we correct it in place, and we put a dated note at the top of the page explaining what changed. We do not quietly edit a review and pretend the earlier version never existed.
Not medical advice
Nothing on this site is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan. We are customers writing about being customers. Talk to a licensed clinician before you start or stop any medication, and take anything you read online — including this — as one input rather than an answer.
